Privacy Policy - Askit
Last updated: September 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Liveshopp, 1 place Jehan Rictus, 93270 Sevran, France (“Askit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), processes personal data when you use the Askit mobile application, askitapp.co, and related services.
Liveshopp is the data controller for the processing described in this Policy. You can contact us at sofiane@askitapp.co.
1. Personal data we collect
- Account data: phone number, username, internal user ID, country, language, account status, and verification information.
- Profile data: biography, profile picture, social-media handles and links, verification status, and profile settings.
- User content: questions, video answers, audio, captions, reports, support messages, and any files you choose to provide.
- Blocking preferences: your account ID, the IDs of accounts you block, and the dates of those actions. We store these preferences on our servers and cache them on your device to hide blocked accounts and their content and to let you manage your blocked users. We do not notify users when you block or unblock them. The active blocking relationship is removed when you unblock an account or delete your own account.
- Activity data: profiles and content viewed, likes, shares, questions sent or received, feed activity, notification interactions, and related timestamps.
- Purchase and payout data:transaction identifiers, products, amounts, currencies, refund and payout history, payment status, and encrypted bank payout details. Askit does not receive full payment-card details from Apple or our payment processors.
- Device and technical data:device and app version, operating system, device identifiers used for security or notifications, push tokens, IP address, user agent, approximate country, logs, crash information, and diagnostics.
- Analytics data: events such as sign-up, profile views, checkout, purchases, published answers, shares, and app or website interactions.
We receive data directly from you, automatically from your use of the Service and device, and from service providers such as Apple, payment processors, phone-verification providers, or social platforms when you ask us to connect or verify them.
2. Device permissions
Askit may request access to your camera and microphone to record video answers, your photo library to select or share media, and notifications to send account and activity updates. The app may also request a device permission used by camera or social-sharing functionality. We access these resources only after the relevant system permission is granted and for the feature you choose to use.
You can change permissions in your device settings. Refusing an optional permission prevents only the feature that requires it.
3. Why we use personal data
- To create and secure accounts, verify phone numbers, authenticate users, and provide profiles, feeds, questions, video answers, sharing, notifications, purchases, refunds, earnings, and payouts.
- To publish and distribute content according to your settings and the licence in our Terms of Service.
- To review reports, remove prohibited content, enforce our zero tolerance rules, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect users.
- To answer support and rights requests, maintain the Service, fix errors, measure performance, and improve features.
- To administer payments and creator payouts and comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, law-enforcement, and other legal obligations.
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, your consent, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, moderating, and improving Askit. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Public information and sharing by users
Usernames, profile information, social links, questions, published video answers, captions, and engagement counts may be visible to other users or the public. Published videos can be shared outside Askit and may include an Askit watermark. Information shared publicly may be copied or redistributed by people outside our control.
5. Service providers and other recipients
We share data only as needed with categories of recipients including:
- MongoDB Atlas and cloud-infrastructure providers for databases and application hosting;

- a successor in connection with a merger, financing, reorganisation, or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Providers may process data only for the services they supply to us and must protect it under applicable law and their contracts with us. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party behavioural advertising.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside France or the European Economic Area. Where required, we use an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism, together with appropriate safeguards.
7. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
Our website and app use local storage, SDK storage, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, diagnostics, and analytics. Where the law requires consent for analytics or similar technologies, we rely on them only after obtaining that consent. You can manage browser storage through your browser and device permissions through system settings.
8. Retention and account deletion
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. The period depends on the type of data, the status of your account, safety and fraud risks, ongoing disputes, and applicable legal requirements.
- Account, profile, and active content data are generally kept while your account remains active.
- Verification, security, diagnostic, and analytics data are kept for the shortest period reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, measurement, and fraud prevention.
- Reports and moderation records may be retained to protect users, prevent repeat abuse, handle appeals, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Purchase, refund, payout, tax, and accounting records are retained for the statutory periods that apply to us.
- Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are rotated or deleted.
You can request deletion from the app. Account access is disabled immediately, directly identifying profile information is removed or anonymised, notification tokens are disabled, and the profile picture is scheduled for deletion. We may retain limited records or content when required for transactions, payouts, safety, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or the rights of other users. Those records are restricted to the relevant purpose and deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed.
9. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to give you access to your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, provide a portable copy, or stop processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent at any time and give instructions concerning your data after death where French law applies.
Send a request to sofiane@askitapp.co. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. We will respond within the period required by law, normally one month under the GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local data-protection authority.
10. Automated security checks
We use automated signals to detect suspicious phone verification, payment, account, and platform activity. These checks can delay or refuse a verification attempt or transaction. If you believe a check was incorrect, contact us so that we can review the situation.
11. Children
Askit is not intended for children under 13. A higher minimum age or parental authorisation may apply under local law. We do not knowingly create accounts for children who do not meet the applicable age and consent requirements. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data unlawfully.
12. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect data, including access controls, authentication, encryption of sensitive payout details, restricted administration tools, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is completely secure, so please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the new version here, revise the date above, and provide additional notice when required.
